About Us
Since its founding by the Methodist Church in 1836, Emory has become profoundly religiously and philosophically diverse.
The Emory University Office of Spiritual and Religious Life supports the university's religious and philosophical diversity by providing opportunities to engage with spiritual life on campus through worship, meditation, education, service, social justice, and interfaith engagement.
The mission of the Emory University Office of Spiritual and Religious Life is to:
- Support religious and philosophical communities,
- Educate about spirituality and ethics in society and the world,
- Provide pastoral care and opportunities to engage in service and social justice,
- Promote religious pluralism and interfaith engagement.
The Dean of Religious Life works with chaplains, staff, and affiliates representing various religious and philosophical traditions on Emory's Atlanta and Oxford campuses to support a diverse spiritual life program. Undergraduate and graduate/professional student organizations enrich the opportunities for spiritual community and practice on campus.
On the Atlanta campus, the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life has three locations: Cannon Chapel Suite 316, where the Office of the Dean is located; the Emory Interfaith Center, where the other chaplain offices are located; and the Alumni Memorial University Center (AMUC) Suite 125, which includes a prayer room, pastoral care rooms, and small group meeting rooms. On the Oxford campus, the Oxford College chaplain is located in the Oxford Student Center.

- Voices of Inner Strength Gospel Choir,
- Midweek Musical Meditation,

- Baccalaureate.
