A bride and groom embracing in front of Cannon Chapel

Cannon Chapel and the Emory University Office of Spiritual and Religious life are delighted to celebrate loving relationships in the Emory community by hosting the celebration of weddings on campus. Cannon Chapel provides a unique, beautiful, and meaningful space for weddings in a wide diversity of religious and philosophical traditions and for all couples.

To be eligible for a reservation, at least one of the parties being married must be an Emory faculty member, staff member, student, alum, or an active member of one of the Emory University worshiping communities in Cannon Chapel.

Wedding dates can be reserved up to one year in advance, and weddings are customarily performed any time on Saturdays. Other requests will be considered on an individual basis.

For a variety of reasons, we do not host weddings on: New Year's Eve or Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve or Day, or during Christian Holy Week and other selected religious sacred times. Additional times may be limited by academic needs.

Under the leadership of the Dean of Religious Life, all of the chaplains in the Emory University Office of Spiritual and Religious Life may be asked to serve as wedding officiants for a standard honorarium. If another officiant is desired, they must be approved by the Dean of Religious Life. All officiants must be ordained and recognized by their denominations or faith traditions.

The Emory University Organist must be used for all ceremonies when organ music is desired. An alternate organist may be used upon approval by the Emory University Organist.

To begin to plan your wedding, please consult the Wedding Guidelines below and complete the Wedding Agreement Form, and send the form to the Cannon Chapel Site Operations Coordinator Sara McKlin, reachable at: 404-727-6325, sara.mcklin@emory.edu, or Cannon Chapel Room 206.

We hope to be able to celebrate your joyous occasion with you.
